For more than four decades, Heidelberg has been providing local and area high school students with information to learn more about the next step in their education journey. 周三, about 200 high school juniors and seniors descended on Seiberling Gymnasium today to take part in the university’s annual Seneca County Higher Ed Day (SCHED).
Hosted by the 入学 Office, the college fair-style SCHED also drew more than 60 colleges and universities – from private and public four-year institutions to community colleges from Ohio, 印第安纳州, Michigan and Pennsylvania – to campus.
Participating local students had the opportunity to visit with 入学 reps from colleges of interest – and even those with which they are unfamiliar – said Sara Rowlinson, Senior Director of 入学 and 市场营销.
“We want them to have an opportunity to learn about the different institutions, ask questions about available majors, internship opportunities, 就业安置, clubs and organizations, athletic opportunities, cost of attendance and financial aid,萨拉说.
Essentially, SCHED is the first step in the journey of college exploration for many of the students.
“We hope the students learned about some of the options available to them,萨拉说. “Whether that be a school in their backyard or out of state, we want them to know there is a school out there that offers what they are looking for.”
